My name is Jan Vokaty and I'm a Freelance Photographer, Alpine Ski Coach and Sea Kayaking Guide living in New South Wales (Australia). I provide photography services in NSW and across Australia.

I started to learn photography from my high school friends in mid 80's using my father's camera. I got my own Pentax SLR in early 90's. Back then I was using B&W film and developing my own photographs in my friends dark room.

Shortly after switching to Digital camera in 2004 I started using my new camera as a teaching and coaching tool during my work as an alpine ski coach at Cardrona Alpine Resort (NZ) and while working as an alpine race coach with Mammoth Mountain Ski Team (USA). Today I mostly specialize in Outdoor Sports Photography and Skiing but I also photograph other events and document my adventures and my travels. I have been photographing skiing, ski racing, snowboarding and other snow sports events in the USA, New Zealand, Japan and Australia since 2005.

I also enjoy photographing landscapes and nature during my travels and sea kayaking adventures. My collection of images covers National Parks and other beautiful places of Australia, New Zealand, Western USA,Scandinavia and Japan.

I have moved permanently to Australia in 2010. Since then I spent over 5 months traveling in the Australian Outback photographing natural beauty and wild animals of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Northern Territory as well as many beautiful places along Australian East Coast during our sea kayaking trips.

I live and work 4 months each year in Snowy Mountains (NSW) and 4 months in Japan (Hokkaido). When snow melts you can find me mountain biking, hiking and sea kayaking around NSW and Queensland or exploring other beautiful places around Australia.
